Default Wind Noise and Windshield

Has anyone had wind noise coming from the front windshield? We have a 2007 Odyssey that is silver. I had a similar issue with my Ridgeline and Honda fixed the problem as a warranty issue (or TSB, I don't remember).

all the 05' and some of the 06' and a TSB on the cowl replacement since it had made a whistling noise at certain speed, I'm guessing you still under the warranty, you should have your dealer check it out.

We had the same problem with our '03 odyssey, and they removed and re-installed the windshield with all new seals, cured the problem, we were at about 50K miles and they did it as a courtesy, but we (family/extended family) have also purchased 5 cars from the dealer and had most of the service done there.

Whistling windshield on our '05. Upper left corner. Cowl isn't likely the cause.

Default How well does it drive on the highway

Being a member of the ROC and an owner of a 2006 Ridgeline, I was wondering how the Odyssey compares as far as road manner go?

MikeT,

I have an '06 Ridgeline and ABSOLUTELY love it! The Odyssey and Ridgeline are very different vehicles (truck vs. mini-van). However the Odyssey is very stable, very quite, and very smooth; even more so than the Ridgeline. From a comfort level as it pertains to a family you can not beat the Odyssey. I am more comfortable driving the Odyssey because there are more things to adjust (i.e. pedals and telescoping steering wheel). The only complaint I have about the Odyssey is my right knee rests up against the center console. There is really no way to avoid this when it comes to the vast majority of vehicles on the road, so you can't fault the Odyssey for this, just my preference.

It is kind of hard to choose, but when I need to run an errand I take my Ridgeline because I love it. But I also really like driving the Odyssey. I made the comment to my wife one time that it is like driving down the highway sitting in your living room.

Exactly...Nevadagarth you nailed both vehicles. I only wish our Ody had the telescoping wheel. Bought it six months to soon. Personally, I find the Ridge a little more comfortable but you can't beat the way the Ody rides. Can't go wrong with either vehicle...that's why we have one of each.

How is your SR Ridge different? I've never heard of that designation and I'm curious what they did different.

Hi Mike,
This is the same 'weatherman' from the ROC, and we also have an '05 Odyssey. The Odyssey's ride is a bit smoother, but not mushy and for a 'van' it is so stable and precise in handling. Some appropriately call it "the sports car of mini-vans". It has the same motor as our RLs (plenty of power), and well engineered throughout, but hey, it's a Honda! I prefer driving my RL, but driving the Odyssey is pure pleasure. The only exception to preferring the Odyssey to the RL is on a trip. It is so comfortable and effortless to drive, and it gets better mileage, especially with the VCM. We just rolled over 46K miles on our Odyssey and we have been very pleased with it and no regrets.

SR is for Sunroof. The early 2006 Ridgeline's had a SR attached to the end of the RTL on the sales sticker and sales slip. I don't know if that changed with later models.
