Default Future Honda Odyssey???JDM Mag Watch: New Honda Odyssey? [3.17.8]

Interesting take from a Motor Trend blog (w/ an illustration of the vehicle)

Quote:
Japan's Best Car magazine continues to rock our nation with artist conceptions of future models. The latest? Perhaps the next-generation Honda Odyssey.

From the looks of things, however, this illustration is likely of the Japan-market only Odyssey Stream. After the first generation, the Odyssey line diverged for the U.S. and Japanese markets -- we got larger, V-6-powered people movers modeled after the Toyota Sienna and Dodge Caravan, while Japan stuck with the 4-cylinder wagons, with four traditional doors. This new version seems to follow in the same mold, with a 2.4-liter, 200 ps (that's 197 horsepower to you, Yankee), i-VTEC inline-4.

Although I need my Ody horsepower to pull my trailer, I like the idea of an aerodynamic, higher mpg model.

When we started looking at an Odyssey we planned on going with the LX because we're thrifty and didn't see the value in spending another $2,500 or so. Well, for some reason I can't remember, we decided it was smart to switch to the EX, and are we glad we did, and for one main reason: power sliding doors! Love those things!
