Those black dots around the rear view mirror...

I've got a 2008 Odyssey and I'm wanting to put my Valentine 1 and Tolltag in it. I can't find it in the manual, but if its in clear sight, I appologize, but what the heck are the black dots?

I called Valentine and they said it would be fine to put it behind the dots; however, they recommended finding some door sensors that setoff the detector and testing it that way.

Any idea if they will cause issues? It seems like a lot of wasted space if I can't put the detector and tolltag up there.

i am not completely sure but i believe that it is the antenna for the radio.

It is not the antenna. It is just a shade to make up for the visors not going over the mirror. The antenna is actually in the pass rear window.

anyways there are two antennas on the ody, on the the rear window and one somewhere on the front windshield, and yea, its not the dots.
