Default Front Disc Brakes

Apparently there were some problems with the front disc brakes in the '05 models. It's been a while, but I think they were making noises, and when I mentioned it to the dealer service dept., they said that there was either a recall or a TSB on the front brakes due to faulty materials, and they fixed them with no hassle and of course no charge. We just rolled over 46K miles and that has been the only issue so far.

There is an updated brake pad for the front that we have installed on a number of 2005's. Some even had the rotors replaced but i believe the problems was mostly with the front pads.

lizzurd,
I take it from your reply that you are a Honda tech. Ironically enough, lately under light braking there is a light squealing sound, but it goes away under moderate to heavy braking. With only 46K miles on it, and neither myself nor my wife riding the brakes too heavy, there is plenty of pad left at all 4 corners. Just wondering what you think the noise might be, and should I worry about it?

Actually i am an Asst Parts Manager. But i have a mechanical back ground. I will talk to one of my techs and see what they suggest for you Oddy.

When your dealer fixed your problem did they replace the front rotors or maching them? Od did they just rpelace the pads?

I'm not sure. I think they just replaced the pads, but to be sure I will have to ask them.

If you still have your receipt from the when you had it serviced it should be on there. If all they did was pads i would suggest getting the rotors machined or replaced.
