Default A Minivan? NOT Gonna Happen! [11.26.7]

Quote:
A Momologue by Jackie: Once again I've learned to never say never.

Just four short years ago, a friend of mine told me she was minivan shopping. 'Do NOT become one of those moms!' I half-jokingly argued with her.

Fast forward three years later. There I sat, along with my husband and two boys under two, signing the paperwork for our brand-spankin’-new, silver Honda Odyssey Touring model. It's been exactly one year that I've been driving the "Hotyssey," as I so lovingly refer to it because, in it, I am the hottest mom out there. I have to skip the hairspray because I. am. just. so. on. fire.

This article fits my wife pretty closely as well. I wanted the Odyssey for the convenience and practicallity, but she was not ready until..........

she "Got her sexy back" as she says it. Now she absolutely loves it! Her friends are either admittedly jealous that she has one (because they are too ego-maniac to get one) or do not have the self esteem to be seen in anything other than a big SUV. When you ask the other folks why they chose the SUV, the only thing they can counter with is they ride higher. Hello....higher center of gravity for more tipping and harder to get things and people in and out of.

Anyways, the Odyssey is a fantastic family vehicle.

My wife has really enjoyed our Odyssey. It will soon have 45K miles, and it has performed flawlessly. I have to admit that I like driving it myself, not as much as my Ridgeline, but it is a fantastic family vehicle. It is, after all, the 'sports car' of minivans. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned for taking long trips. It is so comfortable, offers a great ride, and keeping it between the lines requires minimum effort. It's also nice knowing that if there were some type of mishap, it is the safest minivan out there.

My wife really enjoys her Ody as well. It is not too bad to drive but I prefer my Wrangler Unlimited any day.

I don't think I would replace the Ody with another minivan. But I could definitely consider an Element.

Default Respect The Van!

I wish Honda, or someone else would sell a nice looking license plate cover with the "respect the van" theme.
My family is a two Honda family. The Ridgeline is mine, and my wife drove the Odyssey. She recently passed away and so I have been driving the Ody a whole lot more (before that I only drove it on roadtrips). It is a pleasure to drive, and I don't take crap from anyone about driving a "mini-van". Mini? I have more room than any SUV out there anyway. Gotta' RESPECT THE VAN!
